End of November

We have been doing lots of fun learning activities these last few weeks, the children have been encouraged to count and develop number recognition. We have been on shape walks and have been looking for print in the environment. The children have been listening to the story of the gingerbread man and making their own gingerbread people. We have been busy with Christmas dress rehearsals and we are starting to get into the festive spirit with our Christmas workshop underway. Please don't forget to dress up next Friday for our Christmas jumper and fancy dress day, £1 to be given to a member of staff.

Mark making party

Thank you to all that attended our Christmas Mark making party with reception, it was a great turn out! All the activities set out were to give children opportunities to explore Mark making in a fun and creative way. Children are born with a natural exploratory drive and desire to communicate, they strive to make sense of the world and reveal their uniqueness. Through play, encouragement and an enabling environment their ideas can develop. Please take these ideas home and use them to support your child's early learning.

Don't forget!...

Light and dark

We have been learning all about light and dark in preschool. This has involved lots of fun activities such as exploring the dark tent with the torches, messy play and learning about bonfire night. We made big firework pictures, this helps to develop our fine motor skills and it's really fun! We've had lots of fun with our friends and circle time helps us to understand friendship, feelings and how to support each other. In maths we have been learning all about shapes, and we went on a shape walk to see what we could find. We've started learning our Christmas songs and can't wait for our sing along in December!
