June so far

We've celebrated the Queens 90th Birthday with a picnic and our very own handmade crowns and flags, we all felt like royalty!

We had sports day to celebrate the Euros, the children were very active and we talked about the effect that exercise has on our body.

Role play

Dressing up and role play. The children developed lots of imaginative thinking, social skills and language through our role play afternoon. We all had great fun!

Thursday, 19 May 2016

The children have been using their imagination and thinking skills to make models from all our junk we have collected. This encouraged lots of language and working together. The children were very excited about making their super rocket and fabulous castle.

Our world and our bodies

The children have been enjoying lots of outdoor learning. We have been developing our gross motor skills and movements through water play and mark making. We have been learning all about our world and how to grow our own vegetables. We have also enjoyed developing on physical skills and exercising.

Counting and numbers

We are always thinking of new ways to develop the children's counting skills through interesting activities. This week we have used pom poms and caterpillars, coloured rice and numbers and play dough cake making. Learning numbers through play is so important for our children because they are enjoying what they do, this will have a greater impact and eventually numbers will become more meaningful to them.
